Nine Dead In Mall Shooting

By Cernig

Our sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims.
Associated Press - A gunman opened fire at a shopping mall in the US state of Nebraska today, killing eight people before taking his own life. Five more people were wounded, two critically.

Shoppers and employees ran screaming through the mall in the city of Omaha and barricaded themselves in dressing rooms after hearing gunfire.

The gunman was found dead on the third floor of the Von Maur department store in the Westroads mall.

Keith Fidler, a Von Maur employee, said he heard a burst of five to six shots followed by 15 to 20 more rounds.

Fidler said he huddled in the corner of the men's clothing department with about a dozen other employees until police told them to get out of the store.

Omaha police said the gunman shot dead eight people and then apparently killed himself.
Local news is reporting that 14 people were shot; nine have died, including the gunman and five were injured. It appears that a local 19 year old, who left a suicide note saying he was "going out in style" is responsible. His vehicle was found in the parking lot.

No, there's no commentary. maybe tomorrow. Today wouldn't be appropriate.
