Check this bullshit out. A few women at a public pool in England demanded that disabled vets be removed when they came to the center for rehabilitative exercises.
Setting aside all the obvious patriotism and military issues: Would these women have freaked out if this was some other kind of rehab center? Even ignoring the respect owed to those who sacrifice and are injured in service to their country, what about basic compassion? What about kindness to those who are suffering? This story is shameful on so many levels.
On Wednesday, I saw a large number of US troops, maybe 30 or so, make their way as a group through Hartsfield here in Atlanta. People applauded as they passed. That's probably the usual treatment soldiers would receive in England as well, and that's more like it.
