Enola Gay pilot dies at 92

by shamanic

Paul Tibbets died today, according a report from Reuters. He piloted the plane that dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, the beginning of the end of World War II. The Nagasaki bomb was dropped days later, and on August 15, Japan surrendered.

In some ways it's amazing to me that we've managed to get through another 62 years - and the Cold War - without another nuclear exchange. Here's to another 62, and many, many more.
