The Department of Defense has
officially notified four National Guard brigades that they will be redeploying back to Iraq. These brigades were combat deployed in Iraq for either OIF-1 [2003 to spring of 2004] or OIF-2 [late winter 2004 to spring 2005] and thus had previously expected that they would be off of the rotation list until Spring 2009 at least.
The title of the press release:
"DoD Announces Force Adjustments"
Adjustments, what a great euphemism for broken promises and strategic overstretch. At least when the DOD was acknowledging this reality in the past, they used an accurate descriptor: "DoD Announces Unit Deployment"
