John Bolton, the man who put the "offensive" in "diplomatic offensive", is the latest.
“I believe that ultimately the only real prospect of getting Iran to give up nuclear weapons is to change the regime,” Bolton told reporters after an off-the-record speech to the Hudson Institute, a nonpartisan policy research organization. The Hudson Institute bipartisan? Since when? This is one of the reasons the neocons have been in the driving seat of American foreign policy for so long. The medias' blithe acceptance of their PR and reluctance to call a spade a spade. The Hudson Institute has among its patrons Conrad Black and Richard Perle. Its highest paid employee is Norman Podhoretz (J-Pod's father) and Fellows incluse Robert Bork, Michael Fumento, Scooter Libby, Ken "Cakewalk" Adelman's wife Carol and PR man for the Contras Max Singer. If the Hudson Institute is bipartisan then Ghengiz Khan was a moderate!
But I digress. Back to The Walrus. He says regime change should be done by:
the force of the Iranian people themselves,” Bolton replied. “But if the alternative is a nuclear Iran, as unpleasant as the use of military force would be, I think the prospect of a nuclear Iran is worse.”Bolton also criticized his old boss George Bush for weakness in talking to North Korea and said the US should intervene to change the Sudan regime.
Why is it every neocon says they think war is "unpleasant" but they are always the first to suggest it?
For those watching the revolving door between the neocon think tanks and the Bush administration, Bolton is back at his old home, the neoconservative mother-ship, American Enterprise Institute.
