The new Unpaid Punditry Corps blog is now active. For the moment it serves as a place to learn more about the people and the ideas behind this merry band of bloggers. You can also find out how to join if you are a blogger. Remember, the key word is multipartisan as we are happy to have members from left, right and centre. We are also happy to have members from anywhere in the world. When I move back to the UK this summer, the UPC will already span both major oceans, from Hawaii to Scotland. In time, we hope the new blog will grow with the UPC into a hub site where all members can interact and post their bloggings.
UPDATE If you are wondering why something like the UPC is a good idea, then look at this post. In it, Kevin Drum reproduces diagrams from a study proving that "generally speaking, there aren't very many ongoing relationships between right and left". In other words, both sides comprise echo-chambers (a technical term meaning circle-jerks). People, that isn't the way politics works - that's the way politics fails.
