Good Santa

Santa was very good for me this year, although as I get older, the haul becomes much more intangible, and long lasting than when I was five years old. That year, my favorite present was the massive box that my sister's miniature kitchen set came in. I loved that box although I destroyed it in a week after it served as a spaceship, a fortress, a tent, an alien monster and a popcorn popper (my little sister was the kernel). This year I had a great quiet day with my wife, a couple hours on the phone with friends and family, and a great meal. Those were the best highlights. However Santa did give one great gift via some of my in-laws --- a DVD of my wife as a kid --- finally the balance of terror and embarrassment has been restored :)
