DOD Euphemism of the Day

The Department of Defense has officially notified four National Guard brigades that they will be redeploying back to Iraq. These brigades were combat deployed in Iraq for either OIF-1 [2003 to spring of 2004] or OIF-2 [late winter 2004 to spring 2005] and thus had previously expected that they would be off of the rotation list until Spring 2009 at least.

The title of the press release:

"DoD Announces Force Adjustments"

Adjustments, what a great euphemism for broken promises and strategic overstretch. At least when the DOD was acknowledging this reality in the past, they used an accurate descriptor: "DoD Announces Unit Deployment"
