Guitar Gods

The BBC has a fun piece today on a recent poll for British magazine "Classic Rock" where the mag's readers voted for the best rock guitar gods of all time.

Hendrix came out top of the poll. No argument there.

But the rest of the list? Methinks Classic Rock's readers need to check with their "street-suppliers" about quality control.

Here's the list:

1. Jimi Hendrix
2. Keith Richards
3. Stevie Ray Vaughan
4. Jimmy Page
5. Dimebag Darrell (Pantera)
6. Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
7. Rory Gallagher
8. Eddie Van Halen
9. Chuck Berry
10. Kurt Cobain

The BBC notes that "The Who guitarist Pete Townshend and Guns 'n' Roses legend Slash failed to make it into the top 20."

And where are names like Eric Clapton, Brian May and Ritchie Blackmore?

More to the point, anyone who thinks Page isn't the No.2 after Hendrix needs their ears checked IMHO.
