Political Fib of the Day - The Good News Economy

Earl writes: I've always considered the crime rate to be a good indicator of if people have the economic opportunity they should. If you've got a good job and are able to take care of yourself and/or your family, it would seem that you're probably less likely to hurt other people.

Just my opinion, of course.

If
Hope
Is Gone,
Crime Can Pay...
Despair Fuels Crime.
How's That Economy Doing?

It's not just your opinion, Earl. One of the ways you are "able to take care of yourself and/or your family" is by utilizing the social infrastructure of your area - and social capital just doesn't happen unless it can be paid for in real dollars, be it setting up a PTA or housing association or simply subsidizing bus fares for the poor. Here are the graphs you need but I'm going to reprint one in particular. - C
