I meant to post on this yesterday but just as well I didn't get to it since Cernig's post on black-ops propaganda validates my reaction to this story. The Pentagon says they found an alleged diary of a disgruntled and dispirited AQI leader. I was surprised it didn't get more steam from the usual suspects because it described the 'success' of the surge so well that it could have been written by the White House. Meanwhile, the guy who allegedly wrote it, is said to have "recently fled to Mosul, an al-Qaeda in Iraq stronghold, where U.S. and Iraqi troops are preparing a major offensive."
Ny first thought was funny how they never capture anyone, but they always know where they went and the terrorists conveniently leave behind evidence that bolsters the White House case. You would think if the terrorists are smart enough to get away, they wouldn't be so dumb as to leave behind such damning documentation.
