Five contests, five different winners

by shamanic

And Romney makes five... so far we have the following people as winners in competitive primaries and caucuses:
  • Barack Obama
  • Mike Huckabee
  • Hillary Clinton
  • John McCain
  • Mitt Romney
Man, if Rudy can manage a win in Florida in a couple of weeks (not likely) this will be the most exciting convention engineering in my lifetime on the GOP side.

And for those who aren't clear on it, Michigan's Democratic primary was not a competitive one. Because the legislature moved the date into January, candidates faced sanctions if they campaigned in the state and several didn't even put their names on the ballot (Barack Obama, John Edwards). There were no delegates at stake. Hillary Clinton was basically running against "uncommitted", which pulled no less than 40%. Not exactly the name to beat, but she did it handily.
