Cutthroat Politics

By Cernig

Over at Blah3, Stranger is depressed by the current Obama-Clinton grudge match:
I'm just sitting and watching Clinton vs. Obama, and the escalation of their efforts to destroy each other. My conclusion is that these two are beating each other bloody (while Edwards has been declared by everyone to be irrelevant, which I can't begin to understand) and the Republicans are, by comparison, being as civil as opponents in a political race can be.

The result will be this - the Clinton/Obama primary battle will leave whoever is left standing irreparably harmed - I'm already reading comments on plenty of sites saying that the Dem candidates conduct is getting so bad that the Obama supporters will walk away from Clinton and vice versa.
Stanger thinks the GOP's political operatives must find this the best entertainment ever and worries that the Democrats will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory through all this mudslinging. He wants Obama and Clinton to knock it off and put a Dem victory ahead of their personal ambitions.

Is it really so bad that supporters of one would refuse to vote for the other if they gained the nomination? If not yet, could it get that way?

Tell me what you think.
