Pope charts new course in Catholic view of homosexuality

by shamanic

Wow, what a story! In a message called "The Human Family: A Community of Peace", Pope Benedict XVI encouraged believers to pursue a new understanding of gays and lesbians, saying, "It is important for assessments in this regard to be carried out prudently, in dialogue with experts and people of wisdom, uninhibited by ideological pressure to draw hasty conclusions, and above all with the aim of reaching agreement."

Oh wait, he was talking about climate change. My bad. But maybe if that "let's study the science" approach works out, one day the church will take a look at the mountains of research around homosexuality and conclude that, you know, we're good people too. One can hope, right?
