Here's some good news for a change. A federal judge has ordered the Bush administration to stop dragging its feet and release records relating to the ongoing FISA-telecom immunity battle.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation filed a Freedom of Information Act request Aug. 31 for records of recent communications on the immunity issue between the office of national intelligence director Michael McConnell, telecommunications companies and members of Congress.
The administration has been stalling, trying to delay answering the discovery requests until after the FISA vote has been completed. The court suggests they review their priorities and gather the documents by December 10th. Mark that day on your calendars. The EFF press release that follows ought to be a real eye-opener.
