Iraqi Soccer Players Seek Australian Asylum

By Cernig

According to KUNA, three members of the Iraqi international football (soccer, that is) team have deserted from the squad along with an assistant coach and are seeking asylum in Australia after their friendly match there. The four are refusing to return to Iraq.

The Iraqi soccer team, you will recall, are national heroes after their victories in the Asian Cup

What was that about things getting so much better in Iraq again?
