I had to laugh...

SecDef Bob Gates today said that America must speed up deliveries of weapons to Iraq, in response to news that Iraq intends buying $100 million worth of small arms from China.

The reason given for this call for haste? There are concerns that it is harder for the U.S. military in Iraq to track weapons purchased from countries other than America.

Really? Harder than losing 110,000 assault rifles and 90,000 pistols?

Surely the $100 million not dropping into the coffers of American arms companies has nothing to do with it.
