Jeri Thompson - I am not a trophy wife

By Libby

You have to wonder why Jeri bothered to bring up the trophy wife label in her interview for People magazine. She says, "I almost think they had to fabricate that trophy-wife stuff because there's nothing interesting to say."

On the contrary, there's a lot more "interesting stuff" to talk about when it comes to Mrs. Thompson. She's not as smart as everyone said for one thing, if we're to take into account her reported somewhat dicey financial history and her mismanagement of Fred's campaign team. One might think the campaign would love for that peripheral trophy wife distraction to resurface in order to take the focus off Fred's glaringly apparent ignorance on the issues of importance.

And is it me, or has the narrative suddenly changed on the couple's star-crossed relationship? As I recall, the story until now has been they met at a picnic. In this piece, she claims she picked him up in a grocery store after expressing regret that he was purchasing a can of beanie-weenies and a half a tuna sandwich. TMI, if you ask me.

Meanwhile, this Newsbusters guy thinks it's unfair that Jeri gets the trophy wife label dumped on her and no one mentions Dennis Kuchinich's even younger wife. Um -- you think that could be that no one mentions Kuchinich at all? Honestly, I don't recall a single MSM story on him. Ever.
