A dozen open GOP seats

CNN rightly notes that the spate of Republican retirements from the House may make it impossible for the GOP to make up ground it lost in 2006. It's obviously way too early to make predictions about most seats, but that's a lot of wind in the face for a congressional committee whose fundraising has been pretty lackluster of late.
