As former-PM Allawi ramps up his PR campaign by hiring a GOP lobbyist company and conservative voices join Democratic hawks like Hillary Clinton who have been openly critical of current Iraqi leader Nouyr al-Maliki, they're finding their own rhetoric coming back to bite them on the ass.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said told reporters that some of the criticism from Washington sends "signals to terrorists luring them into thinking that the security situation in the country is not good." He offered no specific examples. Will the folks at Powerline and the rest now admit that they and Krauthammer are defeatniks who are enabling terrorism by calling for Maliki's ouster? I think not. Which exposes their original argument against critics of the Bush administration's occupation policies as empty and devissive rhetoric.
He also said U.S. critics may not know "the size of the destruction that Iraq passed through" and do not appreciate "the big role of the Iraqi government and its achievements, such as stopping the civil and sectarian war."
