Look, it's really time that we amend the US Constitution to provide for a tiered, rotating, regional nomination process rather than this damn helter skelter, every state for itself approach to politics.
Ordinary Americans already have to contend with an electoral process that gets rolling a full two years before the election, but we're looking at the potential of having the two party nominees selected basically 11 months before the winner (50% of the field by mid-February, most likely) is inaugurated.
I don't know about you, but on the whole, I actually don't like political candidates. We'll have a full year to learn to loathe the two potential presidents, then four years to really cement our dislike of whoever ultimately wins. And don't forget about the screech of the two parties' noise machine for a solid year. Are you looking forward to that?
