I see that Pakistan's dictator, General Musharaff, has survived another "assassination" attempt. I'm a little sceptical about it because, despite there being an anti-aircraft gun on the roof in question (and where did the "assassins" get that?) they only shot at his plane using an AK-47 assault rifle. If one were a suspicious soul, one might suspect it was a false-flag "attempt" by ISI or the military designed to get Musharaff some sympathy in his clash with the Islamists at the Red Mosque.
Still, I fully expect this to be followed in a couple of weeks by the arrest of "Al Qaeda" or "Taliban" miscreants - probably some more No. 3's in both groups - who will be tied to attacks against the West as well as this failed attack on the dicator but will really be guilty of being hostile to Mushgaraff's continued rule while in uniform. That's the usual pattern.
