I'm the first to admit that I don't keep up with New York City news very much. Housing shortage, smoking ban, no trans fats, blah. Nice place to visit, but I like my roomy accommodations down south, thanks.
But reading Rich Lowry huff through Mike Bloomberg's record as mayor of NYC was certainly fun. To hear Lowry tell it, Bloomberg has been working with the teachers unions to reform New York schools, he's given hundreds of millions of dollars away, he's taking what steps he can to address global warming from his local vantage point, and he's taken steps to make New Yorkers healthier by banning smoking and trans fats.
Well gosh, it sure would be awful to have a president who, you know, does stuff, wouldn't it?
