Virginia Senate Race Could Get Interesting

by shamanic

Republican John Warner reports having raised a whopping $500 between January and March. That's a holy smokes amount for sure, making it increasingly likely that Warner, 80, isn't planning to stand for reelection. This would put the GOP on the defense in a state where Democrats held the Governor's mansion in 2005 and swiped a senate seat in 2006.

Republicans have held Warner's senate seat since 1979, making a Dem pickup opportunity very profound indeed.

For some graphical thoughts on Tim Kaine's 2005 gubernatorial victory, check out this post I put together at Simianbrain.
