I've not been blogging the Libby trial because I'd always have been playing catch up on the great coverage
Firedoglake has been giving. But I have to mark the moment now that
the verdict is in.
The following are the individual charges and their corresponding verdicts:
Obstruction of justice: GUILTY
False statements to FBI investigators (Russert conversation): GUILTY
False statement to FBI investigators (Cooper conversation): NOT GUILTY
Perjury to the grand jury (Russert conversation): GUILTY
Perjury to the grand jury (Cooper conversation): GUILTY
There will, of course, be a call for a retrial and then an appeal.
Postscript: Talking of folks who are way out in front of everyone else on a subject, the coverage from Talking Points Memo and TPM Muckraker on the breaking sacked prosecutors scandal has been superb. I'm not going to even try - just go there and read.
