Brownie, by W’s account, was a heckuva guy…and he may be, if we’re to believe his account of the FEMA “response” to Katrina last year:
"The lie was that we were ready and that everything was working as a team. Behind the scenes, it wasn't working at all," Brown said. "There were political considerations going into all the discussions. There was the fact that New Orleans did not evacuate and the mayor (Ray Nagin) had no plan."Can’t you just hear them? Sneering and smirking aloud (That will teach them to vote for democrats…) as they watched every satellite feed under federal control (That’s all of them, probably…) and all of those poor people, those old people, and those stubborn people started drowning while no-bid trailer contracts and enough money to be counted by weight were going to W's pioneers or whatever.
Brown said it was natural to "want to put the spin on that things are working the way they're supposed to do. And behind the scenes, they're not. Again, my biggest mistake was just not leveling with the American public and saying, 'Folks, this isn't working.'"
And then they pump up Brownie as scapegoat because he was in charge of one of the most obvious (bleep)ups in federal history.
Heckuva job of looting the Treasury, W...

Gee...What's on tap for October?
Barring an unexpected and big event, the Democrats are on course to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November and conceivably the Senate, too. Whether it's a tsunami or just a powerful wave, the political dynamics are moving in that direction, or more accurately, against the Republicans and President George W. Bush.Expect the unexpected, I guess...
Democratic insiders, who months ago thought their chances of winning a majority in the House were no better than even, and that the Senate was a lost cause, have become far more optimistic. Now, they say, winning the House is a lock, and the Senate is within reach.

Have a good day, everyone.
