Courtesy of the Guardian, here's the guest list for the lunch today at the White House "in honor of Chinese President Hu Jintao and his wife, Liu Yongqing, as released by the office of the first lady."
Most are predictable and/or understandable - company CEO's who deal with China, Bush administration bigwigs with an interest etc. But why was an interior designer there? Isn't it interesting that the Chairman of Amway was present, given his company's track record? Did four members of the Daly family of Chicago really have to attend? How about the mainstream news types in attendance (Glenn Kessler of the WaPo, Gerald F. Seib of the WSJ, Tim Russert of NBC News) - is this keeping a proper journalistic distance from the object of your reporting?
I'm sure you too can spend a few minutes with Google and a few other sites and put together a few questions.
