Locally Informed

This week's challenge from the Unpaid Punditry Corps is going to make for some interesting responses:

Do you think that your local community (your town, city, county) is appropriately informed about politics and government, or is not?

I will post my response later in the week. Expect to see at least some of a rant about the "culture of ignorance" that seems so prevalent here in Texas - the Homer Simpson and King of the Hill glorifying idea that it's unmanly to be educated or informed about anything other than beer, football and the internal combustion engine.
