Maybe We Can Teach the Pig To Fly

Following yesterday's post on cracks in the GOP's unity comes news, via the New York Times, that a whole bunch of conservatives are getting ready to oppose parts of the Patriot Act when it comes up for extension at the end of the year.

The objectors are led by Bob Barr, a former Republican congressman who has formed a coalition called Patriots to Restore Checks and Balances to work with the ACLU and other liberal groups. His coalition includes...wait for it...Paul Weyrich, who is chairman of the Free Congress Foundation, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Taxpayer Reform; David Keane, chairman of the American Conservative Union, and leaders of the Second Amendment Foundation and other gun-rights groups.

They join the ranks of those who wingnuts say are "aiding and abetting terrorists" for raising concern about the Patriot Act's squelching of liberty.

That zooming sound you hear is from pigs doing formation acrobatics overhead. Nice, isn't it?
