Political Fib of the Day - More GrOPerversion

The all-encompassing Foley(R) scandal continues...
And I don't mind it at all. As Kat said in an email:
Now that the right's mass delusion is in process of cracking wide open, it's both funny and pathetic to see all these neocons accusing Bush and Company of being in denial without a single one of them acknowledging their own state of denial over the past several years. It must be an odd sensation to have believed all this time, or hoped against hope, that Bushco wasn't really as bad as they've turned out to be, and suddenly be awakened by a tsunami of reality crashing over one's delusions, especially when you realize that initial crash is only the first of several gargantuan waves to come.
What really strikes me as amusing (To be clear, there is nothing amusing about pedophilia or ephebophilia, got that?) is the avalanche of stories, fingerpointing, backtracking, and smearing being done in the wake of these revelations.
And a lot of it is within the GrOPer party itself.
The problem with setting yourself up as the perfectly pious party, the shining example of what is good and pure and honest in this country is that you forget that you're human, and while humanity is (generally) good and pure and honest...there are some people with problems. Problems that, as Glenn Greenwald points out, have been apparent to anyone willing to look for quite some time:
If the term "moral degenerate" has any validity and can be fairly applied to anyone, there are few people who merit that term more than Rush Limbaugh. He is the living and breathing embodiment of moral degeneracy, with his countless overlapping sexual affairs, his series of shattered, dissolved marriages, his hedonistic and illegal drug abuse, his jaunts, with fistfulls of Viagra (but no wife), to an impoverished Latin American island renowned for its easy access to underage female prostitutes.
So while we're witnessing the implosion of the GrOPers, remember that we're all human and we're supposed to be better than people like that.

Pure Hypocrisy
The Truth Will Outlast GrOPer's Reign
